Stitching
A great way to outline a rubber stamp design, highlight details or create a border.
The key to stitching on paper is to plan ahead and pierce holes first. Thread a tapestry needle and adhere the thread end on the back. Hold the paper close to the hole and pull the thread through with even and firm pressure. Don't tug too hard or the paper will tear. Common stitches include the running stitch, back stitch, cross-stitch and the lazy daisy stitch. |

Wrapping
Wrapped pireces are perfect for borders or design elements such as cake layers, candles, tree trunks and architectural details. Wrap strands of thread closely around a strip of card stock to create a block of color with beautiful texture – or leave spaces between wraps for a striped effect. Adhere ends on back. |

Fringe
Use for flower petals, grass, animal fur and other design elements. The fringe loops can be held down on an adhesive base or you can create loops with stitching. To stitch fringe, pierce holes about 1/8” apart on piece of cardstock, bring thread up through the hole to the length you want, then go back down in the same hole to create a loop. Start next loop in the next hole. Adhere fringe piece to project then hold the loops in place on front with a decorative button or punched shape. |

Tying
Tie one or more of the threads around paper for a finishing touch. Bows and knots can be used to tie on tags, charms and other embellishments. |

Confetti
Great to create fuzzy texture on die-cuts or chip board embellishments. Cut Sparklers and Silky threads into short ¼” to ½” pieces and mix them up to separate the strands. Apply glue liberally to place where you want to embellish, then sprinkle on the cut fibers and press them into the glue. |

Shaping
Memory Thread's wire core enables it to be formed or coiled into shapes. Wrap Memory Thread around a cylindrical object to make spirals. To create shapes or words, use rubber stamp images or printed words as a pattern. For intricate designs, pin the thread into shape on a piece of form core board to pre-shape before applying to project. Use jewelry tweezers for precise bends.
For paper crafts, use quick drying glue especially for paper. For needlework, tack down Memory Thread with a matching strand of DMC floss. |
